Went on my first good, twisty ride today. The 14R had me grinning like the Joker. I hit a lot of 20/30/40 mph corners with serious elevation changes and was blown away at how well the 14R handles. The lighter wheels and stiffer chasis allows it to flick soooooooo much easier than my 07 model. I was hitting 40 mph corners at 95 mph when I normally hit them at 85. And I was in 5th gear because I didn't want to rev too high (kept it at 5K rpms). Also, I wasn't pushing it because the roads were cold. The bike is very confidence inspiring. The TC allows you to really power exit corners without fearing a high side. It's just sick! An effortless ride right out of the crate. Best money I ever spent. Kaw put both feet into this whip.
The Metzler M5s have an excellent neutral profile and stick very well. It was 38 degress and I didn't have one slip. I totally thrashed the "elephants" on the rear tire. And did it in total comfort. The seat is a huge upgrade. Kudos to Kaw. I had to buy an airhawk to save my back, azz, and legs when riding the 07. Don't think I'll need it much on the 14R.
The other owners have talked about the beast engine, crazy smooth torque, effortless gearing, etc. They didn't lie.
I'm removing the fender and replacing the cans and I'm DONE. The bike is that tight!
